What gratitude can I be today to create more for me and my money situation right away?
Gratitude is a weird one.
I get that it’s important to be grateful and I am grateful,
SO so awesomely grateful at times…
And then there’s the echoes of wrongness from my childhood.
That elderly distant relative that smells strange and brings you shit you don’t want:
“You SHOULD be grateful!”
The echoes of school teachers, neighbours and religious distorting true gratitude from something beautiful, expansive and connected “Oneness” to a twisted, mealy mouthed misery of:
When an adult gives you a birthday or Christmas present of something that you really don’t want…
Or overwhelming disappointment on unwrapping a present that you thought was going to be that thing that you’ve been asking for forever and they’d promised they’d get it for you..
Those times as a child (or even an adult) when you knew you should be grateful, and really you had it a lot better than most other people in certain situations, but you still wanted MORE.
I got so sick of being told to be grateful for what I’ve got.
Told to be thankful for the food I don’t want to eat because there’s starving children in another part of the world.
The implication spoken or unspoken was that it’s wrong to ask for more.
That you should just “Put up and Shut up”
A Different Kind Of Gratitude
Mary Hassett and I talk a little about gratitude in relation to money in this short video:
What if it is OK to ask for more?
What if it is vital that you DON’T settle for what you’ve got. That you don’t put up and shut up. That you keep searching, striving, asking, DEMANDING more of yourself and the world around you.
What if you never gave up on you?
What if gratitude didn’t have to be a judgement or a jail sentence?
What if gratitude could be the beginning, the space of creation?
How about being in a space of complete gratitude for everything that is in your life AND asking for more?
What could that create?
We have tools for this and much more on our upcoming call…
