When a date in the calendar brings dread, sometimes it’s hard to know what do do with yourself and how to cope with the emotion of a traumatic anniversary.
Although this video is about me and the trauma that I went through, one of the things that I found most helpful, especially in the early days of coping with this, was knowing that other people had been through traumatic stuff and survived.
And more than survive trauma, that they had created a life.
A life beyond trauma.
That even though stuff had happened, there was hope beyond it.
That’s why I’m sharing this.
To invite you, that no matter what life throws at you, to Know that you are precious.
Your experiences are just that. Experiences.
You are more than your experiences.
YOU are what matters.
Be kind to you and find ways that work for you to help you cope with the emotion of a traumatic anniversary.
Sending this with warmth from my heart to yours.

Some of the ways that work for me:
Acknowledge what’s going on for you and be kind and gentle with you.
Get your Bars run: Access Bars is a nurturing treatment where you simply lie down and receive. Talk if you want to, don’t talk if you prefer not to.
I loved Access Bars so much that I now teach it here
Laugh, cry…lose yourself in a good film: I like to watch comedies and gentle films that nurture me. The one I mentioned in the video is Ghost with Patrick Swayze, Whoopi Goldberg and Demi Moore
