Sometimes mind chatter can feel overwhelming. Here are 3 powerful ways to clear out the clutter from your mind, quieten that pesky mind chatter and give yourself some mental peace.
Don’t be deceived by how simple these suggestions are.
Simple is good.
Simple is easy to remember, easy to implement.
In the overwhelm of relentless mind chatter, simple is your friend.
Acknowledge that it is clutter
Recognise the thoughts, feelings and emotions that don’t serve you, yet are cluttering up your mind.
Acknowledge them for what they are: clutter.
Without this “mind clutter”, you’ll have more space, more presence and more joy in your head.
Notice when, where and with whom the most irritating mind chatter pops up. You’re not wrong for having mind clutter. And you don’t have to keep it.
With this simple act of acknowledgement, you are creating a space for change. When you begin to notice where, when and with whom this negative cluttered thinking shows up, this gives you awareness and information which is an empowering place from which to choose. A powerful place to start to clear out the clutter from your mind.
Ask for it to clear
You’ve noticed it. Now what? Thank it and release it by asking for it to go.
Wait. You want me to “thank” this pesky mind chatter that’s been cluttering up my mind?
Yes. Thank it. Your mind chatter was there because it thought it had a very important job to do. Chattering away on all the things you should look out for, all the things you shouldn’t say or do, all the things you needed to remember…
You’ve had a very busy mind. Working very hard at what it thought was helping, even if it wasn’t. You can ask it to stop now.
Thank your mind chatter for the hard work that it’s been doing and let it know that it can take a break now. That job is no longer required.
Thank it and let it go. Then if mind chatter starts to creep back in, simply ask for it to clear.
Physically clear stuff
Whenever you’re physically clearing something, add in the energetic dimension and allow your physical clearing to also clear out the clutter from your mind.
Doesn’t matter what you’re clearing. Whether you’re having a massive clear out because you’re moving home, giving your home a thorough spring clean, or simply clearing the table after a meal.
With every cleaning action and physical clearing action, say:
“I’m clearing out the clutter from my mind”
That way, you can allow any physical space that you create to contribute to your mental space and clarity.
