Recently, I was interviewed for a podcast called Resilience which is about successful business people and the stories behind the business. Here are the videos of my story of trauma and how I move beyond it.
Or you can listen to the audio if that’s your preference.
Part 1 of 2. I’ve known Niki Duffy for about 20 years but I had no idea about the terrible tragedy in her past. She’s only just starting to talk about it openly and bravely accepted my invitation to tell me all about it.
I wanted to know how you cope with and then come back from something so terrible, how it affected her, her family and her fledgeling business and she not only generously shares her story, she reveals the one single tool she used over and over again, to keep going.
Unfortunately for Niki and her family, the challenges just kept coming over the next ten years but this is an amazing story of strength, humour, love and family. Niki herself absolutely personifies the word ‘resilience’. and I hope you enjoy hearing her story as much as I did.
Part 2 of the Resilience Podcast
If you prefer to hear the podcast, you can listen here to Resilience, the show.
Welcome to Resilience, the show that goes behind the business, to find out the true stories of the business owner, hosted by Nicola Cairncross, Author, Speaker & Podcaster, Digital Marketing Consultant & Mentor.
Nicola is interested in what makes great entrepreneurs tick, psychologically and emotionally and what gives them their resilience, the “numero uno” strength required by any business owner. She says:
“My name is Nicola Cairncross and I’ve been through several traumatic business events, the first in January 2010 when, having finally figured out how to become successful, I lost everything except my family and loved ones and then in March 2016, when I lost my life partner Steve and entered a three year personal (and to some extent) business wilderness brought on by that bereavement.
I’ll be interviewing all the successful business owners I know to find out the stories behind the business and asking them particularly about their resilience, in the hope that hearing about them will help you too”.
